Our General Manager, Heidi Skehan-Calabria, was born and raised in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, and moved to Orlando in her early 20s. Heidi remembers growing up around Italian women and being around food and serving people. “I really enjoyed cooking with my grandmother and looking forward to learning new recipes.” This inspired her to go into the restaurant business around the age of 16, bussing tables at a pizza restaurant called Ilforno.

Heidi worked at Ilforno until College and moved to Orlando to start working locally as a server and bartender. Heidi’s biggest step was cooking at Hue in Thornton Park, where she met the current owner of Kres Chophouse, Dave Webley. She became a Chef at Hue and later dedicated 20 years to learning the operations side at restaurants such as Citrus, City Fish, North Quarter, Tavern, and now Kres.

“I have been at Kres for 5 years. I love the guests; when you do it this long, you have to love people. I love my guest like they’re my own family. What I love most about this place is I can depend on everyone that works there. My whole staff, from the kitchen to the front of the house here at Kres, is one of the best teams I have had the pleasure of working with. The staff is great; I know they are strong, they are great leaders, and we have the same vision. The food and service are solid.”
