Meet Alin Forester, who thrives in the background and creates memorable evenings for guests. Born in Romania and originally aspiring to be a doctor, he found a new calling in hospitality after financial challenges diverted his path.
A New Perspective on Hospitality
Inspired by a quaint Italian restaurant in Romania where staff shared daily meals, he witnessed the power of community within the culinary world. This scene shaped his understanding of restaurants not just as places to eat, but as centers of community and care.
Journey to Kres
After relocating to the U.S., he navigated retail jobs in New York before a friend introduced him to the vibrant restaurant scene. His experience in Little Italy, transitioning from retail to the restaurant industry, was profound. In 2015, fate led him to Florida and directly to Kres, where he felt an immediate connection during his job interview.
Healing Through Hospitality
Now a full-time server and part-time manager at Kres, he extends the familial warmth he values to guests, quietly yet profoundly celebrating their special moments. He discovered that fine dining could be therapeutic—not just filling bellies but also nourishing souls, turning a meal into an experience that could uplift spirits.
Continuous Learning and Growth
At Kres, he engages in wine education, helping to curate a wine list that reflects the staff’s knowledge and passion. This role allows him to blend his medical precision and care into crafting perfect dining experiences.
His journey reflects a profound transformation from a medical student to a valued member of the Kres family, showing how life’s detours can lead to fulfilling new vocations.
